To the Technology Made Simple Newsletter, Edition No.2
Hello everybody and a warm welcome to the second edition of the Technology Made Simple newsletter.
The last thing I would ever want to do is spam your email address, so this newsletter is a monthly (roughly) event filled with content designed to inspire and educate my friends and customers, and keep you up to date with what I'm working on. Of course if you would rather not receive my monthly freebie, there is a link to unsubscribe at the bottom of this email! If you have friends or family who you believe would be interested in getting this newsletter, you can sign them up on my contact page - Click here to go to the TMS contact page
I have been hard at work through August getting a new technology qualification (to add to the growing list) which now makes me an Apple Certified Support Professional. This means that for those of you with a Mac computer, I will not just be able to teach you how to 'drive' but also go 'under the bonnet' and help with more technical issues! In spare moments I have also been trying to learn how to touch type so if anyone needs some pointers to improving their typing, just let me know!
As the year progresses we get closer to the inevitable announcements from Apple about the iPhone 6 which should coincide with the release of the new iOS operating system known as 'iOS 8', and the new Mac operating system known as 'Yosemete' (pronounced YO-SEMI-TEA). Both new systems will bring much new functionality and exciting new features which I look forward to showing my clients how to use. For users of both iOS and OSX, the improvements will mean that your devices will be able to work even closer together and almost begin to finish each others sentences - if you start working on one device you could finish working on another, with minimal time spend moving between devices! Having spent some time working with the pre-release copies of Yosemite I can reassure you that although the new system looks a little different, almost everything works in the same way as previous generations with just a few little changes to get used to.
Those of you who know my background will know that I'm a musician, so I'm excited to let you know that in the near future I will be releasing a long video tutorial on the subject of Logic Pro X, which is Apple's professional music recording software. I have many customers who use Logic extensively so I'm hoping this will prove useful to them, but if you have any interest in recording music these tutorials could be interesting for you too. Of course I will be continuing my shorter quick tips tutorials as well (see below for a link to my YouTube channel).
Finally I have a link (below, next to the YouTube one) which will appeal to users of iPhones iPads or iPod Touches. I have spent some time recommending some of the iOS apps which I use on a regular basis, with links to their web sites and information on why I use them so much. I hope this will prove useful even if you decide not to get any of the apps, it puts you in the loop at least if people are talking about them!
I would like to thank you all for supporting Technology Made Simple and if you feel that you have a minute to help me out even more, I would really appreciate it if you were to leave me reviews on Yelp or Google (or both if you're feeling really generous!). This helps me to show potential customers that I am worth looking at. You will need to have an account to leave a review on either site.
Warm regards to you all,
